The Dellorto Intake System Kit includes a two-piece cast aluminum intake manifold, a modified Dellorto 48 DHLA carburetor, a foam air cleaner assembly, linkage and gaskets. When tested on a stock 12A engine, the combination of this intake system, our header, our Power Pulse Presilencer, Prima Flow Muffler, and a 2-degree increase in ignition advance added 53.6% morepower at 7000 rpm. This kit in- cludes all hardware necessary to install the system on a Mazda automobile, including metering oil pump linkage and vacuum source for the brake power assist unit, but eliminates all emission control fittings. Throttle response and driveability are outstanding, and gas mileage is approximately equal to stock for equivalent driving. The intake system comes completely assembled (except air filter element, which must be assembled by you) to help assure quick easy installation.
Note: We recommend (2) facet fuel pumps (2 of Part No. 16587) to adequately supply this system. Actually, the 1984-85 RX-7 stock fuel pump will be adequate for up to 10 seconds of full throttle operation, but unless you are willing to accept this limitation on your use, you should make the change.
Note: The use of this system requires a header system for proper results.
